There has been a bit of media coverage about endometriosis. Many women may have endometriosis and not be aware. It's a well known cause of abdominal pain and left untreated and undiagnosed it can lead to complications such as infertility. Best method of diagnosis is key hole examination and biopsy of suspected affected areas in the pelvis. It's important to be aware of the potential diagnosis and obtain a referral for investigation.
